William R. Lester

Bill knew from his earliest years that he wanted to be a litigator. He obtained his undergraduate history degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, including a period of study in London, England. Then he earned his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, Georgia. While in law school, Bill clerked for the late Honorable Joel J. Fryer in the Superior Court of Fulton County, Georgia.

Bill began his trial practice in DeKalb County and quickly immersed himself in the community and local Bar Association, becoming a board member of the DeKalb Bar Association and serving in executive positions until becoming President in 1990–1991, at which time the Bar Association received numerous awards from the State Bar of Georgia. Bill also received Bar admission to the U.S. District Court, the Northern District of Georgia, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the U.S. Claims Court, Georgia Court of Appeals and the Georgia Supreme Court. He also has professional associations with the Atlanta Bar Association, the DeKalb Bar Association (President, 1990–1991), the Federal Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association and the Lawyers Club of Atlanta. Bill regularly serves on the State Bar of Georgia Fee Arbitration Panel.

For over thirty years, Bill has creatively and aggressively represented his clients in complex business and family law matters. In fact, Bill finds his expertise in one field to be beneficial in the other. Bill is humbled to regularly receive glowing references from clients, some of whom he has represented for the entirety of his practice. Others may be the offspring of his original clients. Virtually all of Bill’s clients come from referrals from existing clients, former clients, and other attorneys and professionals in the community. Many of Bill’s clients, in fact, are attorneys.
